Both were successful! In retrospect, I would have chosen a larger pattern in softer colors for the background of the cotton, because the flowers on this one make it really busy. But it's still cute if not used in overwhelming amounts.


The silk got a lot of lovin' from my class critique. I plan to make it into pretty scarves. This fabric, a silk charmeuse, is so.. well... silky! It was like liquid. I got it for $10 a yard at Sew-Fisticated in Lechmere. The dye I used was Mx in Turquoise. I was excited to try out the turquoise, and really like it. The pictures don't do it justice, I don't think.
