I contacted a woman named Kate Pokorny on her blog, on which she is preparing to crochet an entire yurt out of locally sourced wool, and she invited me to come be her yurt intern! She lives close by, so it was perfect.
I went and met her today, and we got right to work crocheting mini-yurts, to give as gifts to the people who donated to her project. It took me a bit to catch on, but once I figured it out, I crocheted up 11 of the little suckers!

I look forward to working with her more on this project - finally something to crochet besides the plethora of weird hats and little yarn-y birds that are piling up in my closet!
