Haystack 2009

I just spent a week in Maine, making art. I've yet to photograph most of it, but here is the main thing I worked on there. I asked people to give me their sorrows, which I then took and blacked out, unread. I took the sorrows and packaged them in envelopes, and strung them in the woods. The song "Pack Up Your Sorrows" played while people viewed it.

I want to hear more about this multi media project.

How did the song play?
Was it on sensors?

its like some kind of witches spell.

The song played on a little ipod/speaker hook-up that I buried in leaves, on repeat. It played very softly, so people walking by had to listen close or they wouldn't notice. I think if I put it in a gallery, instead of the woods, a sensor would be a better plan!
